Criminal Quandaries - S9
After deliberating for a while, the party decided to head to Gus's home. On the way, they ran into an androgenous bounty hunter looking for Bastle. Bastle Finally utilized his rogue ability to hide as a bonus action. Attempting to blind Yeet, he used his new divine powers to clear the blindness.
The fight was over quickly- Kaige casually strolled along doing mega damage, and Bastle's quick hands finished the job. Kaige took the damaged, black platemail. And Yeet took the gold, hiding it from Gus. From there, they continued a little further down the road, reaching Gus's parents house. Yeet unapologetically broke the small entry gate.
Gus's youngest siblings, Titus and Nerva, rushed to hug his legs and led him inside where Galba and Marcus were prepping dinner. Marcus pulled Gus aside and gave him a key from his parents. Gus marched to his parents' shed to find his world turned upside down. This shed, where the kids were not allowed, contained the instruments required for trapping souls used in Warforged. Bastle found they were transporting the soul-vials in demi-plane envelopes. Marcus pushed his way into the shed and bolted for his brother Tiberius's Grave. Gus took some time in the shed before going to find Marcus. There, he promised to find their parents and get to the bottom of why they were doing this.
They stopped by Gus's sister's house, and headed to Askelios. They were able to get into the village thanks to a sleepy guard at the gate, but Bastle insisted on sneaking in under a carriage, after which he fell into horse shit. After deliberating their debts and a few attempts to steal each others' gold ending with Bastle getting Charmed by Yeet out of 40 gold, they went to Gola's tavern, led down by a Goblin. Yeet was late after paying off some of his debt.
Gus asked Gola to help find his parents, and they also handed over the necklace for 100 gold and an invitation to join the crime syndicate called the Collective which operates out of Fairhaven. They traded two of their horses for Horses for a carriage.
Kaige visited her guy, Cyril, a dwarven blacksmith who took the plate to study for a nice sum and also a paired set of longswords. Cyril also not-so-kindly asked Yeet to leave after insulting his ugly-ass armor.
Meanwhile, Kaige went to buy a few potions and Bastle visited the mysterious sage-
"Scales, death, toad's last breath. Fire, blood, treasure hoard. All in smoke, friends now broke. Unseen Caper, fortune's Favor"
After, he received a piece of mysterious sage from Misty and was asked to take the Sage to Magnolia Mosstone in Fairhaven
The party "Killed" Malaki and Yeet and were convincing enough to let the party through parading as a Burial Service. Kaige followed behind on her own horse posing as a noble in a fresh fit.
