Criminal Quandaries - S8

After requesting to be sent back to be next to the treasure they sought, the party found themselves in the very room from before Shadowfell. Chiani, the demi-god that controlled the temple hung from the ceiling, creating animated shadows resembling themselves that attacked. Bastle, Malaki, and Yeet failed their wisdom save, and their shadows stood up from behind them. Bastle's shadow successfully hid from him and used Bastle's own abilities to hurt him. Malaki Struck down his own shadow before it could even manifest. Yeet gave Kaige bardic before attacking his shadow with thunderclap, but biffed it. His shadow, in return then controlled kaige with crown of madness. The demi-god, then cast thunderwave (missing kaige because your DM doesn't understand cubes). Chiani teleported away to a pillar while Kaige smacked Bastle with her greataxe.

The demi-god then shot lightening out of it's finger to hit Bastle and Malaki in the center of the room, downing Bastle. Malaki used hellish rebuke, and it saved (Malaki, you could've done half damage even though it passed). Gus picked up Bastle. The demi-god jumped down to Kaige, but Kaige fucked her up enough that the demi-god was willing to surrender, and pay interest on any new earnings. The party had none of it, and Bastle killed her, cathcing a glimpse of a marble-sized pendant around her neck as she fell into the pit that used to hold the void to shadowfell.

The party descended into a pit full of dead adventurers of days past. The rifled through the remains to find 100gp mithril chain, a pair of magic dice, and the door out.

They grabbed the pearl, finding it was full of lightening. They found themselves outside of the base of the temple and only hours had passed in the material plane. The bodies of the druids they killed. Long rest and Level 6.

They split the gold 30-30-30, and Yeet/Gus got 5 a piece
