Criminal Quandaries - S31

The smoke cleared from the battlefield, and it was clear that Theo had won. Blade was utterly decimated with nothing left of his corporeal form. Highcall had teleported to the battlefield between the two titans for some reason, and walked over to the crater where blade was. Clerics ran onto the field to mend Theo, but they could not restore his two missing limbs without high level magic.

Bastle won big collecting a grand off his bet for Highcall. Kraid was also showered in gold after coming to collect them and letting them know they have a spot to sleep at the capitol building tonight. High wanted to speak with him should he win.

The party went shopping for a while purchasing some potions and spell scrolls. The party strategized which direction they wanted to take. Take power for themselves while Highcall was down, or work with him, sticking to the original pact. Eventually Kraid came to collect them again and said that a high priestess would be coming into town that night to heal Highcall's missing limbs.

They visited Highcall. Finally without his armor, but he is covered in bandages, and with a melancholic look. He thanked the party for their help, but had a message for them that they could not speak of in the room. Highcall gave them a plan eshift spell, and shifted everyone to the Astral plane, surrounded by stars.

Theo then asks looks at Yeet while asking if everyone is on the same side. After Yeet answer his only goal is to kill Tharashk, Highcall  goes into detail about his contingency plan for the new vacuum of power. The warforged were supposed to go back to Zilargo, but they have not and are missing. Theo finally admitted that it was Karina that was the mole he was in contact with, but Karina has turned and is not fully working with Tharashk.

Yeet said that Karina Dragonmark had markedly changed, which concerned Highcall. But he laid out his final contingency- The Den of the Dragon. At the extreme price of the wealth of the city, The Den of the Dragon would assist Highcall with whatever he needed, using their forces. They are ready at a moment's notice.

They plane shifted back to Highcall's room, and dinner was ready and they feasted. As their food settled, Highcall had a surprise for everyone. Bastle received his dream sword, Yeet got a Lyre, Gus received an old relic of Boldrei to empower his casting.

Lastly Kaige was gifted a weapon wielded by the first Dragonmarked warrior.

The party went to their rooms nearby and were settling down. Many of them left with a higher opinion of Highcall. But all was not quiet. There was a commotion in the hall. Coviness would be arriving by lightening rail, but Highcall received a distressing message from her and they needed to get to the train station quickly Kraid ran them down to the stables, and they took off in a beeline for the station.

Gus noticed many warforged lined up on the roofs of the house in the thoroughfare, that were training their sights on the horses, but they were able to outwit the assailants, and arrived to the station just in time.

Bastle chose to climb up to a higher level to get into the station, but the rest of the party walked into the front door to see a horrific sight. The train had barreled into the station and derailed. Arcane energy arced everywhere, and there was a standoff between Coviness's honor guard and a battalion of Warforged and Wizards. Bastle strategically took out the snipers on the far gantry, downing a couple wild magic potions to get the job done.

Gus and Yeet took the frontal assault, having  ranged battle with the Wizards and Warforged Soldiers. Gus went ham with his spiritual mantle, and Yeet heated up the battle with a classic fireball.

Gus, after having dispatched several enemies decided to make his way to the train car Coviness was in, but failed to leap over the levitation pads, and his very badly hurt self was knocked out cold.

Bastle after taking out the snipers ran to the train car as well, sneaking up on the wizard attacking Coviness within and taking him out.

Coviness was grateful, and the party picked up Gus.
