Criminal Quandaries - S21

A week of rest, prayer and gambling later, it was time for another job, and Ramsey had a lead…

Barnaby crit against Yeet as a small revenge for blasting him earlier, but the party learned that Yeet had a little more knowledge than they expected about the bard college. He had to learn his skills from somewhere after all.

They ventured to the bard college to find a bubbly goblin manning the desk. They shopped around for a bit for random spell scrolls before embarking on the tour. They were teleported outside on a peak with a bridge spanning a large gap. Metal music slowly rose on the wind as they battled against Axel and Lexa to cross the gap.

Bastle and Kaige made a dead sprint to the pair of rockers to distract them while Yeet and Gus pulled up the rear, however in doing so Kaige was pushed off the mountain and forced to be a backup dancer. Yeet used their own rock against them, blowing back Axel off his speaker stack, to even the odds a bit. Through disadvantage after disadvantage, they were able to defeat the pair. The gig was up, and the pair said they just had to make sure they were true rockers. There was a break-in earlier that day, so they needed to make sure they weren't more robbers. Kaige rightfully punched Lexa, as she led them into the gift shop. Kaige also punched the goblin at the desk. The small gift shop is where they were welcomed to the Bard's Display of Sentimental Memorabilia, or BDSM for short! They started the tour, but the College swallowed them up as the goblin knocked something off a pedestal.

They woke up in separate small rooms with a puzzle to solve. After struggling to describe their shapes, they finally managed to figure out the rune on the wall being lit or unlit meant that some of them had to stand on a plate and Yeet had to activate the entry with a crystal.

The next puzzle locked them in rooms again, but they could see each other. The eye of the beholder disabled their magic prison, but also the platform formed in front of them by shedding blood on the pedestal in the rooms. They managed to hop around, either on the statue itself or on the platforms.

Their next challenge was a classic logic puzzle that they figured out first try, carrying the runes across the chasm via the correct routes.

They came to a small room with a bonfire and a fog wall, presumably to rest before the boss. The boss was a real beholder, who had a magic fiddle. Two of them were teleported to a demi-plane to look at a rune, while a crystal appeared in the back of the room. They figured out the mechanic incredibly quickly, dropping the beholder's shield and dealing a decent burst of damage before being teleported again.

The  eyes were doing quite the number on the party. However, Yeet had a very bright idea to cast a powerful fireball over the beholder to take all the eyes out of commission at once. They swiftly dealt the final blow, by ripping him in half, asshole first.

The front desk goblin came back to find the evil defeated, and turned a blind eye to Yeet taking the fiddle. In addition, they were given some gold as thanks and as an apology for being wrongfully detained.
