Criminal Quandaries - S11

The party fought their way through the bounty hunters looking for Kaige, and as the last one ran away, Kaige tackled the one that was running. The only information they got out of her was that Matron Denieth sent them, and would be paid good money to retrieve Kaige. They, however did not have any money on them, so the party killed her (while Gus assumed Malaki put her in a medical coma), and stole her soul. Yeet tried repeating the limerick to the  Amulet as Kaige held it out.

They made their way back to the Inn, with the intention of getting their horses and bolting to Fairhaven. As they were nearing the stables, a dapper Gentleman named Lawrence Alabaster Noticed Gus, inconspicuously pulling a damaged warforged. Lawrence approached and suspected they might have to do with the rumors he had heard about a monster. The rest of the party very reluctantly agreed to let Lawrence travel with them. Lawrence promised them he had a friend that was an artificer who could help bring bastle back to life without needing to scrounge up 300 gold and a diamond.

They took off down the road, but at the stroke of midnight, the amulet came to life and asked where Dimak was. It laughed when Yeet said they believed Dimak- that it was a wraith. It lept out of the amulet and grappled Yeet to the ground. The rest of the party descended on the amulet. Malaki cast suggestion telling the effigy to get back into the amulet. They learned that it will bind to anyone that touches it and it will feed off the alcohol in their blood. If the cursed person isn't drunk the amulet will kill them. It also gives the cursed person +2 CHA, -2 CON and disadvantage on all non-Charisma checks. They proceeded to argue with the Effigy who revealed they were a fey and couldn't be sent to shadowfell.

The party decided to keep the monster in the amulet using their resources over the rest of the two day travel. Gus had written "Von Silverstein Bounty Hunters" on the side of the cart. Yeet threw the necklace into the city gate Guards' Face. Lawrence quickly came to the rescue as his family is the armorer for the city guards. Yeet narrowly avoided the amulet as the guard tossed it back, warning Lawrence that this was the last straw of bringing rambunctious friends into town. From there, they made their way to Luthias Daxalim's house, where he told them of a soul Channel hidden in an abandoned warforged factory just outside the city built into a cliffside. He would need the Soul Channel to bring Bastle back via moving the soul from one warforged body to the next. Off they headed to the warforged Factory that afternoon.
