WitW - Session 32

The party found Verrick dead on the road ahead. A Druid of the Blood Moon approached them, claiming the charm they had belonged to the druids and demanded its return. He offered them safe passage in exchange for the charm, but the party refused to relinquish it, with Jeatz arguing that just because they had it didn't mean they stole it.

The druids launched an attack, with several wild-shaped birds descending on them and shifting into wolves. The head druid declared, "When blood is spilled, we feast." During the battle in the forest, the party fought to keep possession of the charm as the druids tried to flee to a nearby fairy circle. In her first combat debut, Glitter nearly ended up with the charm, but ultimately, one of the wolves stole it back before disappearing into the mycelium network.

Not wanting to waste any time, the party pursued the fleeing druids to reclaim the charm. Before setting out, Jeatz cleverly disguised himself and donned the bracelet of the druid who had challenged them. Battered but determined, they navigated the network and ended up (safely enough) in the brush just on the edge of the druid grove. They witnessed a ritual in which blood was drained into a central pool, which appeared to be full of blood and other viscera.

With the druids on high alert, they quickly devised a plan. Jeatz would impersonate the druid who had threatened them on the road while Almyre and Glitter remained invisible, ready to strike. Despite nearly being discovered by the patrolling wolves, the invisible pair stayed hidden. Jeatz expertly passed himself off as the druid. When the druids attempted to test him by speaking in Sylvan, Jeatz won them over and successfully retrieved the charm. During this, Jeatz was contacted by whatever entity lurked in the blood pool—it knew he wasn’t who he claimed to be but seemed placated by the fact that Jeatz was fey. The party then exited through another mycelium network.

Jeatz connected with the fungal network and learned that it was filled with the presence of the creature from the blood lagoon, along with fey energy. However, the druid circle seemed cursed by this entity somehow.

They finally returned to the forest road and, after deliberating for some time, decided to head south to Duvos. Jeatz pretended to the circle that he would hide the charm in Last Hearth.

Once they arrived in Duvos, Jeatz once again took on his "hot dad" appearance. As they entered the town, they saw two butchers yelling at one another across the river, each claiming to be the one to feed the "Royal Host."

Horace and Jeatz stepped in, offering themselves as perfect strangers and thus impartial judges to determine which butcher was the best chef to serve the Royal Host tomorrow.
