WitW - Session 14
The party investigates Cece's home to find the place upturned and no sign of her. They suspect she was taken by the grand guard. They decided to not split up and go investigate the top of the tower first to find the letter from Thistle's son.
They finally agree upon infiltration. Ka and Jeatz disguise themselves as two grand guards with Horace and Almyre in tow. Jeatz forgot that they don't speak, and made a noise, but Horace was able to bluff his way out of it. They make it to the top of the tower to find Nox at his desk and McSquiggles in a cage on the floor next to him. Red Eye comes out of invisibility and the battle ensues.
The party does an ace job of ambushing Nox and Red-Eye downing them quickly. Ka incapacitated Nox to later interrogate, but Jeatz finished Red-eye, his body turning to smoke, but his mask dropped to the floor. That was only half the battle however, as the tower comes to life, protecting itself and the Grand Guard brough the heat.
Almyre finds the letter full Junior's memories and the key to McSquiggle's cage. With him free, Jeatz hides under the table with McSquiggles turning them both invisible. Almyre tries to set up by the window to feather fall the party, but the tower slowed him and she was unable to react after getting blown out of the tower, knocking her unconscious.
Horace and Ka were thinking they had an out by taking the elevator but suddenly found themselves at the top floor. Ka takes the leap down to the bottom of the tower. They sprint to Almyre stabilizing her, and then, donning Red-Eye's mask, they turning into a puff of smoke, leaving the party- destination unknown.
Horace takes after Ka, but after grabbing Nox's unconscious body. Jeatz thundersteps out of the tower after saving up sorcery points for several rounds.
McSquigggles told Jeatz that returning Horace would free him of the bounty and also net Jeatz the reward. Having escaped the tower, they beeline it to the Gods hand rock- the home of Equinox. The hideout was wrecked. McSquiggles blamed Red-Eye for it for being so well connected, especially to Nox.
When the Grand Guard came, they gave Tharun, Jeatz friend, the option to don the Barren Cloak in Frostfell as he was a respected member of the city. They took McSquiggles and killed everyone else. McSquiggles also told Horace that an old Rabbit-folk named Bronto came by asking for Horace to be brought to Equinox as well, but he left just before the raid.
They revive Nox, learning Cece was captive to him. He has a bag of holding containing Magnus's stolen fey heart. Nox admits he is fully in the pocket of the Winter Court, but Nox warned them that the Winter Court has many machinations, and the Autumn and Springs courts may soon fall to their power thanks to the "Wizard." This Wizard is presumably where Red-Eye gained his warlock powers from as well.
They take Nox's sigil, a scale necklace, in hope to use it.
