WitW - Session 12
The party appeared in a magic suppressed cell with Magnus. Red-Eye, on the other side has Magnus's heart in hand. He said there was a changeling amongst the group that he wanted to serve him. If they did, the rest of them could go free.
In their deliberations, Almyre vaguely recognized Red-Eye knowing he was an emissary from the Winter Court, and has ties to both Ka and Jeatz. It also came out that no one knows what will happen when Horace is brought back to Equinox, but Horace is sticking to his word to Jeatz. Ultimately they decided on this- Ka and Jeatz would disguise themselves as one another so Jeatz could get out of the anti-magic field and cast invisibility.
Frugal, the Hobgoblin Captain, came back with Red-Eye to take away the changeling, Jeatz, disguised as Ka. Horace pounced forward, forcing open the gate, and chaos ensued. Frugal fought the party at the cell door, while Red-Eye ran away. Eventually Frugal had to retreat and Jeatz chased after Red-eye only to have him disappear into a gaseous form.
Once outside the holding room, the party was greeted with a mass of goblins inside the warehouse. The goblins were weak, but the sheer number of them whittled the party down. After a few fireballs and cleaves, it was an even fight. Jeatz nearly TPK'd the party by casting magic missile, Wild Magic Surging a deadly Ice Storm, but he cleverly counter spelled himself. Magnus, used some fey Magic to create a few goodberries to bring back Ka and Horace from the brink of death. They were ultimately successful against the goblin forces, save for Red-Eye's escape.
Frugal, still alive after all the fighting, was forced against the wall by Ka with the immoveable Rod. Almyre took his Winter Court Talisman, a silver necklace with a mountain on it. It represents his employment by the winter court, proper. Frugal warned the party they would never make it into the winter court due to what they looked like. The party stole his plate armor and killed him.
They left the warehouse to find they were in Tradeburg, center of commerce in all of Exurbia. However, since winter has started the trading season is over so the down isn't quite as active as it would be in the spring and summer. The party explored the hideout finding some travel supplies. They made their way to the Whispering Willow Inn and Tavern afterward, Magnus in tow.
Chitter, the tavern owner, provides the party with some drink, and they surveys the tavern. Jeatz takes and interest in the Orc in the tavern. Soon after their arrival, An insanely hot Summer Eladrin walks in. Almyre interested in what they have to say to Chitter, uses the scroll of comprehend languages to discover it was her brother, Emir that was confirming his order of wine before leaving for the summer court the next day.
