Criminal Quandaries - S37

The door creeks open to reveal Krennick, and in slow motion, his symbol spell on the door erupts and stretches across the room, dropping everyone into a pit of unending agony, while Krennick monologues. He pontificates about how fear is the true motivator. He said we would "save" the city from the warforged, a problem he himself created, and become King Krennick Tharashk. He gave the party one chance to leave the city, as a king must sometimes show mercy when he does not want to. He wanted to Save Clarissa from the bloodshed because he does love his daughter after all.
Krennick left, and left behind Grey, his hulking monstrosity of a familiar to chaperone the party out of the city, but it quickly devolved into a fight. They lured Grey out of the inn to quickly turn and ambush him. They whomped Grey with the help of Circuit and Estrum. The beast managed to get away, however, and the party left quickly for the town square after Gus received a message from Coviness.
Almost to the apartment next to the square the warforged presence was quickly increasing. They snuck past two groups with the help of an invisible Barnaby. They approached Coviness's apartment, but a more alert contingent of warforged guard the house. Gus drank an invisibility potion and snuck into the house next door abnd misty stepped across the alley. Yeet, meanwhile distracted the guards as he levitated and pulled the guards' attention away from the door. This was the opportunity that Coviness needed to open the door to the street to allow everyone in (Circuit, Estrum, and Clarissa).
They went out to the balcony to find a huge crowd of citizens arrested and surrounded by warforged, but no sooner had they gone out, Krennick appeared, floating high above the crowd with a thunderous boom, and with a wave of his hand, felled all the warforged in the square. Bastle felt his life start to slip from him in the same manner, but held strong, suffering no lasting effects. With a second wave of his hand, Krennick unlatched the shackles of the people in the square.
The party felt they had two options, Leave the city. Or, stay and fight. They chose to fight with Bastle Readying his bow and with Yeet being invisible
