Criminal Quandaries - S26

The party opened up a mysterious staircase leading further down, however, Most of the party  wanted to clear the rest of the house first to find anything they could for their task to Highcall, however, Gus meandered downstairs, very quickly finding out that the floor was booby trapped.

The party upstairs made quick work finding a device to read the knowledge shard, giving them some dirt on the warforged. They also learned that Estrum is presumed living and wanted by Blade. Secondly, that warforged can retain memories from their past lives through their souls- the stronger the soul, the more likely they are to have these moments of clarity. Lastly, there was a hidden note from Estrum in the knowledge shard that Blade was the strongest soul he'd seen. They explored the wizard's room which had many notes on counter-spelling paladin smites.

The party made their way downstairs to a frazzled Gus. But almost like magic, Bastle skips across the tiles with only a single mistake. Down the Hall, they came across a torture room, and none other than Circuit herself. She was there the night of the attack and has been in this room. She doesn't know much, but Yeet asks her to study the knowledge shard reader upstairs before running away.

They explored the other hallway to find spike pit. In the alter-looking area, there was a chest. Yeet cautiously approached, thinking it was a mimic. Much to his relief, the chest was just a regular object. However, the candlesticks on either side of the chest burst to life attacking them! They tried pulling the party to the spike trap, and Gus is trying his best not to be tossed in.
