Criminal Quandaries - S23
The Lords were enjoying the party! Kaige and Yeet shared a dance in the ball room and exchange a few words about them both being all too familiar with this world.
Upstairs, a handsome young man, named Lionel struck up a conversation over a game of Snooker. The conversation quickly turned flirty and Gus was eating Lionel's clumsiness up.
Barnaby, not wanting to intrude wandered around the mansion finding a sword in a front room. There was a kind maid in the room, Barnaby intended to knock her out, but instead fell into her giving her a hug. Barnaby's slime got all over her and she went to wash off, leaving him alone. Barnaby successfully picked up the sword off the display without an alarm going off.
Back in the ballroom, Kaige and Yeet were approached by a man in a dragon mask, who told them the Den of the Dragon could provide the power they seek.
Yeet fancied to play with the Phenomenal Phive, impressing them with a quick jig, and whipped out his Lyre to start a line dance. With the room distracted, Yeet was able to take a good look at Clarissa, locking eyes. Yeet slyly slipped her a note, with no one the wiser.
Meanwhile, Gus has fallen for Lionel, taking it to somewhere a little more private. Lionel took the lead, but it was a little too rough for Gus, as he realized what was happening. Gus successfully warded off Lionel's charms. Lionel turned violent, but failed to hurt Gus. Not wanting to draw any attention, Lionel left in a hurry with his sister, Lioness, but not before Gus gave him a good smack with Vampiric Touch.
Back in the ballroom, Faramir tried to assassinate Clarissa, but Kaige's sister, Karina stopped him before he could do anything. Just in that moment, Krennick walked into the ballroom with Yeet's mother on his arm. Yeet and Tharashk lock eyes, but the pair leave before anyone else recognizes them.
Barnaby walked into the middle of the room with the sword in hand, but failed to fool anyone. The guard stopped him, asking to whom he belonged. Bastle was up the stairs yelling to the guard, but forgetting he was a warforged which were not allowed in the house.
Bastle tried convincing the guard we was invited, but to no avail. Fortunately Yeet was able convince the guard the Bastle was a bad familiar servant. He "desummoned" Bastle by casting invisibility.
The left the party without a single sword drawn, and one sword richer. They made their way to the Collective for the night, but found a drunk Gola. He seemed to be wallowing in self-pity, and after much prodding, the party learned a terrible truth- Gola knew Norrix was dead, and sold off the Collective's assets for protection. It didn't matter though. House Cannith's warforged descended on the Collective, Kaige sunk a dagger in Gola's chest just before the party descended into the sewer. The warforged had hounds that gave chase, but with the party's head start, they were able to get away without much more trouble.
