Criminal Quandaries - S13

As the warforged awoke in front of Lawrence, he sent Barnaby to fetch the others. The rest of the part abandoned the hole behind the waterfall in favor of assisting Lawrence fighting the warforged protecting the facility. Lawrence was somehow able to frighten the warforged, but it was quick to shake it off before Kaige arrived raging. The facility then released poison gas to hurt the fleshy invaders. Just as Yeet destroyed the first sphere drone with a powerful shatter spell, it exploded, and 4 more drones showed up materializing from the relays in the room. After an onslaught of acid, axe, and hammer, the party fought back valiantly when Gus and Yeet arrived. But the facility hit back, attacking with fiery lasers. The warforged downed Lawrence and Kaige, but the brave Gus uttered the word "Droll" to pick up his friends with a mass healing word. Lawrence chopped off its arm while Kaige beheaded the monster.

The fight was not quite over, however, as the drones exploded, downing the weakened Kaige once more. In an even worse turn of Luck, the Lord of Blades has shown up. This huge metal monster is the muscle of House Cannith, coming to protect the house's assets. Knowing this was a fight they couldn't win, the party took off down the assembly line at the back of the factory, and on the way, Yeet picked up a knowledge stone while Gus and Kaige grabbed the soul channel from the ceiling, rolling it with them. Unfortunately, the Lord of Blades ambushed them on the other side of the assembly line. The Lord of Blades grabbed Barnaby, slicing him in 3, while Lawrence's torso was separated from his legs and the lord of blades turned him into red mist with a single fist. The Death of their new friends, spurred the party to panic. Kaige finally figured out the soul channel's secret, shrinking it to a manageable size with magic. The party managed to make their escape by destroying the assembly line glass and they escaping through a hole in the floor.
