WitW - Session 25

The party leaves Noodle Noodle, and urgently finds a Parroter that can send messages to Lord Anar and Jahir about the plan. They were hoping to send 5 other bad birds in case some of them are intercepted, but unfortunately only found 2. From there, they headed to see Almyre's grandmother at the ziggurat containing the sand dial representing time.

They warned her of the downfall of the court and the plot to kill Lord Anar - she seemed relatively unbothered - but told them what she knew of the Wizard Ariazel. The party leveled up as they sat in the warm light of the dial while Jira created a story for them: He showed up here and there in the histories of the realm, but the last time she could recall his name was when Exurbia decreed that all knowledge of the outside realms would be banned as well as all writing. This coincided with the death of Exurbia's daughter - Endring. She also made a passing comment that the orb's glass is said to be able to see through time itself.

Almyre communed with the Sand Dial, and found the Weave Warden in the sand-

The Time Warden (who is actually called themselves the Weave Warden, but I think it's funnier you get the name wrong given the incorrect uber eats deliveries) warned that if the Dial were destroyed, the Wild would be become mundane. If the sand were to stop flowing, the Wild would be snuffed out like a candle.

They insisted Jira come with them on the way back to the palace. On their way, they were waylaid by 3 Tabaxi who had come to pay back their friend they beat up. The fight quickly turned as 3 sand golems showed up, and attempted to drag the party into the sand. The party found they were incredibly hearty, resistant to many magics. Jeatz failed his magic surge twice, growing a beard of leaves as well as sprouting very convenient butterfly wings to pick up Jira, carrying her to the castle.

They met Lieutenant Jahir at the gate, there was some initial confusion about goblins? Golems? Exploding Parrots? They quickyl got to business however, and discovered Jahir had sent Amir to his study for the evening to not arouse suspicion. They sent Almyre's grandmother to her room with her attendants. The party rushed to the study to find Lord Anar.

Anar seemed initially annoyed they didn't bring back Amir themselves, and was quite dismissive of the news of the golems. He was as dismissive of the news the Amir would attempt to kill him.

He tried to capture them in a force cage, but Jeatz counterspelled it with no reaction from Anar. He asked the party join him. Jeatz couldn't understand his behavior with his insight check.

As the party approached his desk, Amir walked into the room with an arm around Jira.
