Criminal Quandaries - S4

After a long Hiatus, the party reunited at the doors of an abandoned manor. This manor was that of Strahd von Zarovich’s late wife Alyssa. They took the garden house and chapel first, finding a +1 great axe, a musical piece and a metal ball in that order. Gus noticed that the Chapel, however, looked to be built out of spite, and not a true holy place. Understandable if vampires built it.

Bastle made his way into the house as Malaki, a hex blade warlock treating himself to a Juicy Drop Pop, mistook Bastle for his shift relief. Malaki was about to give him the rundown as the rest of Scaar’s Guard showed up. Everyone, reluctantly made their way into the dining room where Malaki was about to explain everything. Then the spirit of Volenta showed up, harming everyone as she haunts the house to protect her domain.

The party quickly recovered after explaining they wanted to maybe look around and perhaps steal something. Malaki admitted there was nothing left to steal, but tagged along anyway. Yeet and Malaki went into the sun room where Malaki stole the silver stopper from within the whisky decanter. They soon ran into some awoken plants, that did some damage to Malaki and Kaige, but Yeet, was quick to grab some lingering spores from the mushroom to grant Rapport Spores 4 times despite his incredibly weakened state from the ghost attack.

They continued through the house finding a necrotic blade +1 whose hilt had turned to brittle wood, meant for Bastle’s arm. They also discovered the basement housing a large coffin. Yeet got a little too close to the shaking, screaming coffin and it tried to charm him. He was able to resist, and the party split up, exploring the rest of the house from underneath. Gus and Yeet (with a ton of effort) found a rusty sword with another silver ball in it that Bastle was able to free from the hilt. The party needs to solve a few things. 1. The arcane lock on the door in the dining room 2. The final silver ball to fit into the ram’s eye; and 3. the lock on the coffin.
